Wiz Khalifa is a record-breaker. More than two years after its release, Mister Cap’s Charlie Puth-assisted hit “See You Again” has become the most-viewed video on YouTube.
The visual recently surpassed Psy’s “Gangnam Style” for the record. At press time, the Fate of the Furious single’s visual notched 2,897,015,128 views, beating out “Gangnam’s” 2,894,970,917 views.
“I’m super excited and grateful to everyone who supported the song and video on YouTube,” said Khalifa. “[I’m] happy to inspire and impact so many lives.”
Puth was also excited about breaking the record. “I remember when I signed up for YouTube in 2007 and had hopes of uploading a video and it reaching 10,000 views,” he said. “Now a decade later, it feels incredible to be a part of the most-viewed video on YouTube.”
Released in 2015, the chart-topping “See You Again” served as an homage to Paul Walker, the late star of The Fate of the Furious film franchise, who died in a car accident in 2013.
