When it comes to creatures that live in the deep blue sea, the average person doesn’t know much. In fact, the only sea life most of us are aware of are what we see at pet stores inside aquariums, at fresh fish markets (dead and filleted of course) at the zoo and at theme parks like SeaWorld. But there is a world below the ocean’s surface that is both scary and terrifying. And Russian fisherman Roman Fedortsov has proof.
Fedortsov operates a fishing trawler in northwest Russia (Murmansk) and uses his phone to take photos of the scariest creatures that get caught in his fishing nets. And despite how scary many of these creatures look, Fedortsov has no fear of handling them while snapping their photos. Fedortsov posts the photos on Twitter where many followers have started to respond with objections.
There are those on Twitter who think that Fedortsov should leave these deep sea creatures alone. They take objection to these creatures being killed just so that Fedortsov can snap a photo and post a tweet. And some even believe that Fedortsov could possibly be destroying the ecosystem with each creature he captures.
Whether you agree or not with what Fedortsov is doing, the photos are quite scary. Check out the most frightening ones we could find and if interested, follow Fedortsov on Twitter for more at @rfedortsov.
