Liverpool ‘reject £89million bid for Philippe Coutinho’ as Jurgen Klopp insists Brazilian will not be sold

Liverpool have reportedly rejected a bid of €100million (£89million) for Philippe Coutinho.
The Reds turned down Barcelona’s £71.5million offer last week but the Spanish side — desperate to find a replacement for seemingly Paris-bound Neymar — then increased their proposal.
Catalan newspaper Sport, however, say the second offer has also been rejected.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has grown increasingly frustrated with the speculation surrounding his key player, who signed a new five-year contract earlier this year.
The German coach looked almost bemused when asked by a Spanish reporter for his ‘interpretation’ of Barcelona’s pursuit of Coutinho.
Klopp replied: “Well, you formulated the question in a strange way. Where is the interpretation?”
“The word ‘not’ means there is no interpretation for that. It’s nothing new, is it? He is not for sale. There is no interpretation at all. If you say he is available to be sold? I don’t understand that.”
Klopp has faced frustrations of his own during the summer transfer window after seeing three bids turned down for RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita.
Recent reports also suggested Liverpool were interested in signing Augsburg’s Swiss keeper Marwin Hitz but Klopp insists that is not the case.
“No, we aren’t in the running for him. He’s a good goalie but we have enough good goalies,” he said.
