August Alsina pushed through to perform at the BET Awards pre-show on Sunday (June 25).
Wearing a vibrant Versace shirt, Alsina took the outdoor stage at L.A. Live to perform a two-song medley, starting with the emotional “Make It Home,” a standout from 2014’s Testimony .With an acoustic guitarist by his side, Alsina switched up the mood. Surrounded by back-up dancers, he launched into “Don’t Matter,” a single off his forthcoming album, Drugs .
Taking to Instagram, the R&B crooner confirmed that he had to fight through discomfort to make it through the performance.
“#HonestyHour,” he wrote. “Many Days I feel like shit, Today’s one of them but today I made a choice to P U S H thru. I’m praying until something happens, & I’m dilIgently WORKING through it all. I’ve got faith and I’ve got faith that my faith is working. This is a message to anybody feeling LOW, keep pushing, keep trying, keep stepping, putting one foot in front the other, keep going until that something happens!”
Last month, Alsina revealed that he has a
liver disease , which is impacting his health in various ways. Just one day ago, he shared a photo of himself in hospital garbs. His caption read: “The Pursuit Of HEALTHiNESS
